How close is the Wilkins Town House to the Mississippi River?
We are about three blocks from the bluff that over looks the river.
Are there any eating establishments close by?
Yes. There are six within 1-1/2 blocks and nine within 3 blocks. In addition there are sandwich shops, BBQ establishments and elegant dining within three blocks of the Wilkins Town House.
The Carriage House Restaurant, located on the grounds of Stanton Hall, one of the most impressive antebellum mansions in Natchez, is only one block way.
Also, only 1-1/2 blocks away is Kings Tavern, the oldest building in Natchez.
What does a classic Southern Breakfast consist of?
Each morning you will be greeted with Eggs, Bacon, Sausage or Ham, Grits, Biscuits, Muffins, Fruit and Cereal.
What is there to do in Natchez?
Natchez Mississippi, the oldest settlement on the Mississippi River, is full of places to see and things to do. In addition to touring our many wonderful antebellum homes, which are opened year round, there is also the Natchez Indian Village, Historic Jefferson Military College, Natchez National Park and delightful horse drawn carriage rides.
There is a wonderful walking path overlooking the magnificent Mississippi River. There are two wonderful 18-hole golf course, great public tennis courts and wonderful hunting and fishing all around the area.
